“Such a delightful perspective on life, from that of a child who sees God “washing” the world with his outpouring of rain! Inspired by the child-like faith and innocence a little one has this poem serves as a delightful reminder of just how simple things really are! It’s just that we make them so complex and complicated! A child sees it so much differently….as God washes the world and cleanses us anew.” – Christina
Something so amazing
happened before my eyes,
I saw God wash the world
and boy, was I surprised!
Showers came from heaven
another world away
And as I watched in awe I saw
the colours in array.
A multi-coloured rainbow
filled the misty sky
As rain fell on the earth below
and daylight passes by.
I reached to touch the colours
stretched out on the sand
But the colours were transparent
I could see them through my hand.
Yet still I saw God washing
the sun, the earth, the sky,
I saw Him wash each blade of grass
and every mountain high.
He made the rivers flowing
and swept the rolling seas,
And I watched Him pour His showers on
each flower, plant and tree.
I saw Him wash the fragrance
of every rose that blooms
Re-touching all the colours
refreshing their perfume.
And every bird was dancing
I saw them flap their wings
As God washed them in His showers
and I listened to them sing.
Yes, I saw God wash the world
right before my eyes,
And what a sight it was to see
the rain fall from the skies!
Yes, I saw God wash the world
as I sat on the beach,
And while the rainbow lingered there
I knew then He too washed me!
