Commandment and Scripture
YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME
– Luke 16:13 “No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”
YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELF AN IDOL
– 1 John 5:21 Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
YOU SHALL NOT MISUSE THE NAME OF THE LORD YOUR GOD
– 1 Tim 1: 13-15 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY
– Colossians 2:16-17 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
HONOUR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER
– Colossians 3: 20-21 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
YOU SHALL NOT MURDER
– 1 John 3:15 Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.
YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY
– Heb 13: 4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
YOU SHALL NOT STEAL
– Eph 4:28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.”
YOU SHALL NOT GIVE FALSE TESTIMONY
– Colossians 3:9-10 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
YOU SHALL NOT COVET
– Eph 5:3 “Covetousness, let it not be named among you”
