20 things in 10 minutes
The TIME in just ten minutes…
In total there are 1440 minutes a day.
I wondered of the many things we could accomplish in a mere 10 minutes of our precious day.
A new Idea can flourish, a satisfying meal cooked, or a memorable time spent with loved ones.
The list is limitless.
Although owning all these spectacular 10 minutes in a day can feel as though we have accomplished nothing, and go to bed wishing to be more productive the next day.
This is why Derry @ HeartWhispers has created a suggestion list to get started til you create your own.
20 things in 10 minutes:
1. Learn a new skill
It does not matter if your goal to care-is to learn a language, type or write with your left hand,
in 10 minutes each day your goal can be accomplished within a month or 2.
2. Converse with someone
Socialize with peers, friends, your mother or partner, ring someone who lives alone.
Try asking questions and listening without interrupting
3. Write a letter to yourself, a friend, a Grandma or Aunt.
writing down memories from childhood
is a great way to work through thoughts and ideas
especially if you share the good times.
4. Clean your car (or a Granny’s car).
you can also do this as a passenger, take a damp dusting cloth and wipe all you can reach,
sort your glove box and console.
5. Go out and take some photos,
find some flowers or autumn leaves etc
You don’t have to be a professional to enjoy some happy snaps and share them with someone.
6. Walk out into the garden
smell roses, tidy one area, design a path, prune a shrub or simply collect a posy for in a vase or to give away.
7. Set up a special chair/nook
where you can see the garden and meditate on God’s beauty and love and read His love letter
Meditating on eternal security is calming, relaxing, a perfect way to enjoy silence/listening,
while letting God transform your heart.
8. Burn calories
by doing 10 minute stretch/movement workouts you can actually burn more than 300 calories.
Sit on the ball while watching TV and lean sideways down on each leg and down front ways on both legs.
Then roll backwards and hold to strengthen stomach and back muscles. ie: Use your body weight to strengthen muscles and burn weight.
or simply turning on some music and jumping around is an amazingly enjoyable way to exercise and relieve stress.
9. A Beauty Break
There’s nothing better than a soothing shower to relax our bodies after a long days work.or take 10 minutes filing nails or soaking feet, or do a mud/lemon face mask, this goes a long way to feeling nice about yourself and going out.
10. Read a chapter of a book
or read to someone who loves stories.
11. Get a task out of the way.
Personally nothing feels better than having nothing weighing my brain down before going to bed.
Doing those must do chores first provides more time because you will know where things are
and you’ll feel great after!
12. Write…
a list of who to write to, a poem or your own goals,
or write a letter or card to someone, they would be delighted.
13. Spend time with your kids.
Taking 10 minutes a few times a day, talking, reading, singing with kids will increase a lifetime bond
and reduce health/emotional issues in them.
14. Take a walk around the block,
through the park and look at the trees and gardens and talk to yourself about what you like or not- if you can find a neighbor to walk with.
15. Organize something
such as events, morning tea with friends, dinners
paperwork, bedside drawers, the pantry or linen cabinet….Anything Goes.
16. Admire a sunset or sunrise
or find shapes in the pretty clouds, thank God for the loveliness.
17. Learn something new about a friend or your partner or Make a cake or wrap a gift to give away.
18. Cook muffins or a simple meal, make it into a picnic, even if its on the living room floor.
try a new recipe you saw on TV or online.
19. Brew a cupp of tea or make a smoothie
share it and savor it.
20. Take a nap
or lay in the sunshine, we need 20 minutes of Vitamin D a day [and talk to God]
There are thousands of things you can do with just 10 minutes each day. Write your own list so you can get what you really want done.
