Waiting For Santa

Oh me, Oh my, what’s this I hear
Come closer and hear my story
The word is out all over town
And I have a big reason to worry

A man dressed in a bright red suit
Is bringing a big bag of toys
Riding on a sleigh of reindeer
Surprising little girls and boys

They say he comes down the chimney
When everyone is fast asleep
Under the tree he places presents
And goodies for everyone to keep

I sit here waiting and watching
And hoping soon he will be here
He may not bring me anything
And that is my greatest fear

I’ve tried to be the best I can
As I run and play each day
Not getting into any trouble
For here is where I want to stay

It’s so hard to be a little kitten
For there are so many things to do
Climbing, jumping and napping
Just to name a few

I promise not to scratch the chair
Or attack the children’s feet
No one will be bothered by me
I’ll be the best you could ever meet

I was born only eight weeks ago
So I couldn’t be all that bad
Please Santa bring me some presents
Or my first Christmas will be very sad

Patiently waiting at the window
I know you will be here quite soon
Yes, I see your sleigh coming now
As your reindeer fly over the moon
